Local artists donate works to benefit British Red Cross
Four local artists are doing their bit to help an international charity by auctioning a piece of their work in a London sale.
The British Red Cross Art for Humanity auction in London this week has works from Desmond Fountain, Graham Foster, Sheilagh Head and Dan Dempster.
?Our work is grouped together in the catalogue, which can be viewed online,? Mr. Foster said.
?A hundred percent of the proceeds are going to the Red Cross.?
To view the art, log onto http://www.redcross.org.uk/event.asp?id=48544. The closing date for bids was November 28.
Mr. Foster said the piece that he entered was called ?Dark Waters?.
?It is an acrylic on wood and it depicts a recurring theme in my work, of a mysterious house lit from within on a dark night with some strange fish swimming below,? he said.
?I don?t know how the auction went, should know by tomorrow.?
