OBITUARY

Services for Susan Angevine (Shaffer) Outerbridge, 74, of Pembroke, will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at St. John's Church in Pembroke.

Mrs. Outerbridge died on June 12 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby, Ohio.

Born December 2, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she lived in Pembroke for 40 years.

She was a 1951 graduate of Radcliffe where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in American government. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and bridge. For many years she helped raise funds for the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by organising and coordinating the selling of pink sand.

She leaves behind her sons, Toby (Sharon) Shawber of Ohio and Carl (Beth) Shawber of Oregon; stepchildren, Mary Graham (Roger) Berry, Chips (Lilly) Outerbridge, Stephen (Nancy) Outerbridge, Patrick (Mandy) Outerbridge and Layton (Lisa) Outerbridge, all of Bermuda; six grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ira Stuart Outerbridge, Jr., her parents Van Vechten and Angevine Shaffer and her sister Mary Shaffer Crane.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Bermuda Biological Station or The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia.
