On the arts scene
Wyeth video at BNG today
‘The Wyeths: A Father and his Family' is the title of today's lunchtime video presentation at the Bermuda National Gallery. The story of the famous American artist, N.C. Wyeth, is told through the reminiscences of his children. Wyeth is best known for his illustrations for such childhood classics as ‘Treasure Island', ‘The Last of the Mohicans', and ‘The Yearling'. His children, including Andrew, and grandchildren comprise America's foremost family of artists. Wyeth had a powerful grasp of life, and he communicated that quality to his children. The film is about art, as well as life and spirit. Running time is 58 minutes, admission is free, and the starting time is 12.30 p.m.
