?Where is Zion?, asks new variety show
Multi-talented Mitchell Trott is at it again!
His company, Ah! Who! Productions, has put together another ?explosive variety showcase? which will be presented at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts on November 22.
The programme will feature comedy, poetry, tap, salsa, hip hop, reggae, and vocalists singing their own material ? all to be presented by a large cast of local artists.
If the title, ?360 degrees. Where is Zion?? seems curious, that is because he wants it to be.
?I am asking everyone ? the cast, the audience, even those who don?t make it to the show,? he says.
?360 degrees (full circle) means we have been around the whole cycle. Within that 360 degrees where can you find Zion?
?There has been total peace and total war, and now we are at war, so after that there has to be peace.
?Everybody wants to be or dwells in Zion, or what some people call heaven.
?If you have a personal relationship with your god and you know yourself then you have found Zion already.
?That is the concept behind the concert.?
Expanding on his philosophy, Mr. Trott (whose tap dancing stage name is Livewire) says part proceeds from the event will go to the Ethiopia Fund, a local registered charity whose aim is ?to help people in their ambitions for repatriation, higher learning, and the reunification of our nation?.
?The point of view we are presenting is that we are all one nation, and all spiritual kinsmen, and the show will project that because all participants, when they are performing, will be presenting their image of Zion, or attacking that which opposes Zion, meaning confusion and distraction, because we are creators, and in righteousness we have created this show.?
Among the large cast joining Mr. Trott on stage will be Desta (Zion) Wilson, the Caisey Brothers, Phiemma and June Caisey, Wendell (Shine) Hayward, James Richardson, Jahrizino Simmons and Nadanja Bailey (The Two Fools), Ninja Cutty, the Seabreeze Salsa Dancers, the All Star Gombey Team, John Lee, Jr., Prez Ebbin, and many more.
?I am doing the show so we can create an opportunity for the professional locals to entertain in a positive way,? Mr. Trott says.
?We need to expose our people to positive self-images. We have a strong culture here.?
@EDITRULE:The show will begin at 8.30 p.m. and tickets (patrons $30, general $20, students $10) are available from the Jamaican Grill and Kit ?n? Caboodle, or contact busherlogic.bm or vibetribenorthrock.bm
