Clothing stores put on major fashion show

FASHION-minded people looking for something hip to do this weekend will not be disappointed by the Liquid Space Fashion Show & Beach Party.

The show, held at picturesque Chaplin Bay in Southampton, is presented by local retail clothing stores Mambo, Sasch and Stefanel and is being managed by Barmuvinjam.

During the top half of the show people can watch more than 50 local models strut their stuff along a 100-foot catwalk as they feature clothes from the stores' collection with an emphasis on Diesel wear. The second half of the show features a fall and winter collection showcase.

Yvonne Cacace, owner of Stefanel, said: "we had to airship the fall and winter collection to Bermuda so it would be here on time.

"We've done five shows previously but this is the biggest show yet and we are offering good, clean fun that everyone can enjoy."

During the fashion show people will be treated to a selection of musical niceness by the official fashion show DJ, DJ Chubb, and afterwards for the beach party there will be a variety of music through the night by five other DJs.

The beach party after the fashion show will feature local DJs DJ Aztec, D-Nice, Jake & Lenny and D'General, who will have people grooving all night long. Local singer C'Danger will perform during the fashion show intermission.

There are also special guest video DJs from Barbados coming in. F I Video DJs will be performing at the Hamilton Princess Hotel tonight with the Liquid Space Girls dancing, and on Saturday they will perform at the beach party with two mega screens provided by Eugene Dean and Startime Entertainment.

At the fashion show and beach party there will be lots of surprises and giveaways, one of which is a brand-new moped. The Mio Fashion Style moped with helmet is provided by sponsor Cycle Care and one lucky winner will walk away with the prize, provided they hang on to their ticket stub to match the winning number drawn.

Mrs. Cacace wants people to know that "for the beach party we will have a well stocked and well manned bar and the drink prices won't be outrageous. Drinks across the board are only $5."

There will also be food provided by Granny's Restaurant, home to the Granny Good Burger on North Shore, Pembroke.

There are also going to be 12 security guards with guard dogs on duty.

Mrs. Cacace said: "It's going to be a great night and people will really enjoy themselves."

Tickets can be bought from Mambo, Sasch and Stefanel or online at www.boxoffice.bm or at the gate.
