New Otto Trott exhibition features 'man fitting in with the coastal environment'
Otto Trott's latest exhibition opens at the Masterworks Gallery tomorrow night.
The exhibition, "Boats, Bays, Birds", is part of the Artist in the Garden autumn series of shows.
Mr. Trott (pictured) opens with Martha Vaughn during the opening reception that begins at 5.30 p.m. until 7 p.m. "The work shows man fitting in with the coastal environment," explained Mr. Trott.
"There are four works of Great Bay in St. David's. I also have paintings set at Spanish Point, Mills Creek, Bailey's Bay, Blue Hole, Devonshire Bay and Spittal Pond."
Mr. Trott said most of the boats that he painted are wooden Bermuda-built boats.
"They seem to fit into the bays almost as naturally as the birds," he said.
He has been painting birds for about a year.
"I have spent many hours tracking around with a camera trying to get images of birds," said Mr. Trott.
"My patience has paid off because I had to gather enough material for many paintings."
The exhibition will take place until November 7.
Gallery hours are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a chance that the gallery may be open on Saturday mornings.
