Susan Mary Acton-Bond and Daniel Scott<$> are delighted to announce that they were married in a beautiful outside ceremony in Perth, Ontario Canada on August 19 2006.
Family and friends gathered in Stewart Park for the ceremony which was followed by a lovely reception at Code’s Mill.
Susan is the daughter of Ruth Styles and Michael Acton-Bond of Ottawa, Ontario.
Dan is the son of Sheila Hoeg of Truro , Nova Scotia and the late Charlie Hoeg of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.
Susan and Dan currently reside in Bermuda where Susan is teaching at Whitney Institute Middle School and Dan is a corporate company attorney with Mello Jones & Martin.
Susan and Dan are now looking forward to their future adventures together.Charles Leon O’Brien<$> the son of Charles and Roslyn O’Brien of Smith’s Hill, St. David’s, was on the dean’s list at Georgian College for two consecutive quarters in April and July 2005.
Other achievements during the first year at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, Charles was nominated as the “Prefect of the Year”.
Just recently he won second place in the “Program of the Year” competition at the Resident’s Life Conference held at Trent University, Canada.
Charles has attended the Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario Canada, where he studies in the Mechanical Engineering Technology-Automotive Manufacturing, which is a three year programme since September 2004.
Further accomplishments he achieved while at Georgian College, in 2003 he was bestowed the honour of being in charge of all international Resident Associate.
Charles attended St. David’s Primary School, then the Clearwater Middle School for one year, after which in 1998, he left Bermuda to attend the Venta Preparatory School in Carp, Canada for three years.
Upon graduating from the Venta Preparatory School in 2002, he commenced his studies at the Greenville Christian College (a University Preparatory School).
While at Venta, Charles won the Most Improved Student for two consecutive years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. He also won for two consecutive years the awards for the Male Athlete of the Year between 2000 and 2002.
He was also presented with the Andrew Tanchuk Memorial Award 2001 — 2002 which is presented to the member of each graduating class who has best exemplified the School’s motto of developing fully one’s potential — academically, socially and spiritually.
June 12, 2004 Charles graduated with honours, and was the first Bermudian to receive the “Male Prefect of the Year Award” from the Greenville Christian College.
