To Bermuda, with love, from Boyz II Men

Lovers' vibes were in the air as R&B sensation, Boyz II Men, took the stage for the first time ever in Bermuda and rocked the house with their beautiful love songs, smooth dance moves and amazing stage presence.

Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris and Nathan Morris stepped on stage like the seasoned pros they are and entertained the crowd filled with lovers, friends and single ladies from beginning to end at the pre-Valentine's Love Concert.

The event took place at the Fairmont Southampton's ampitheatre on Wednesday night. By the time my boyfriend and I walked downstairs from our room, the line snaked around the lower lobby towards the elevator.

When we finally got in, we found two decent seats and sat down to see if the show would start on time as predicted by promoters. Lo and behold, at 8.30 p.m., American comedian, Freddy Ricks, introduced himself on stage to much applause from the audience.

This man was hilarious from start to finish. I expected him to be funny, but not as funny as he was! He had the entire audience rolling in laughter during his whole set.

Making jokes about people in the audience, touring Jamaica, Barack Obama as president and, of course, Bermudians, was highly entertaining. He was worth every penny the promoters paid for him and more.

Next up was the extremely talented Bermuda Idol winner, Larrita Adderley. I had never heard Ms Adderley sing prior to the concert and I got chills. She has an amazing voice and a great stage presence.

Joining her on stage was Jamie Zuill, another performer I had never heard. He wowed the ladies with his voice and charm and delivered a good set.

The stars for the evening, Boyz II Men, came on stage singing, "Boyz II Men coming back again" to screaming women standing on their feet dancing.

They sang hits from over the years, songs from their latest album, The Remedy, and even performed Motown Classics.

The guys explained they had recently recorded an album filled with Motown hits but added their own Boyz II Men flavour.

And flavour they did add.

They sang 'Just My Imagination' and 'Tracks of My Tears' complete with Motown-style dance moves and all. It was highly entertaining and very, very good.

The best segment of the night for me was the section they dedicated to the ladies.

Wanya explained the songs they sing have been tested and has five children as a result.

'I'll Make Love To You', 'Waters Run Dry', 'On Bended Knee' and a song off of The Remedy, 'A Perfect Love Song' put all the lovers in the mood for a night of romance.

The audience sang every word to every song and a few dozen lucky ladies were given roses from Shawn, Nathan and Wanya.

The best part of the night for me was when the music started for 'End of The Road'. Now since I am only 22-years-old, this song came out when I was about seven and I remember hearing it on the radio at summer-day camp and belting out the words. Wednesday night was no different.

The entire audience, myself included, stood to their feet and belted out the words to the song, danced and clapped their hands for the whole three minutes and something seconds.

For the encore, the guys sang 'Mama', a song that put tears into my eyes and Wanya sang 'It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday', a cappella. Both songs received a lot of applause.

Overall, this was a great concert. I have never seen a Bermudian audience so engaged in a performance. Boyz II Men did not disappoint and I guarantee everyone in attendance will remember that night for awhile.
