Competition to design cover of telephone book
Society of Arts for the second annual BSoA Telephone Directory Cover Artwork Competition.
All BSoA members 18-years-of age and older can enter the competition which selects an original piece of artwork to grace the 1999-2000 telephone directory.
Artwork in any medium can be submitted as long as it adheres to this year's theme, `Vision'.
Entries will be accepted until January 8 and all of the pieces will be featured throughout the full-colour directory.
"We are pleases to join together again with BTC on this project,'' said BSoA spokesperson Karen Carswell. "We are merging the arts with technology and are delighted that BTC is supporting local art in such a visible way as we enter the new millennium.'' BTC's Karla Lacey-Minors added: "BTC believes that art is a primary form of communication and the Bermuda has a world class arts community. By partnering with the BSoA, which nurtures local artists, BTC is able to further encourage and support the local arts community.'' The winner of the contest will be selected on January 13 by an in-house panel and will receive $2,500 from BTC in exchange for usage rights.
A public showing of all the entries will held from January 16 to 30.
