Dill is China-bound
-- to take up the cause of women.
Mr. Dill will be the only man in a Bermudian group attending the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women.
He will represent Bermuda Government as part of the British Government delegation.
The other Bermudians, meanwhile, will represent non-Government bodies, including the Women's Advisory Council.
"It will be a very comprehensive conference. A wide range of issues will be discussed, such as equal pay and abortion,'' said Mr. Dill.
Mr. Dill explained the Government representatives would hold one conference, and the non-Government ones another.
He pointed out United Bermuda Party Senator Yvette Swan would be an exception to the rule.
Although representing the International Federation of Business and Professional Women, she had also been "accredited'' to sit in on the Government conference, he said.
Mr. Dill said about 100 countries were expected to be represented at the conference.
"It is one of the most significant conferences of the decade.'' Mr. Dill was unsure of its exact date, and how long it would last, but added: "It will be at the beginning of September. More details should be released later.''
