Get insight into the workplace
nature of work in industry and business. It focuses on the jobs people do, the way they do them and the personal qualities which lead to achievement and job satisfaction. Here's how it works: Phase I Schools and student participate in programme orientation, work shadowing preparation and some work site previsits.
Participating businesses are advised of student profiles and shadowing interests.
Parents are orientated to the programme and apprised of their role.
Contractual agreements are made.
Phase II A student is paired with a work guide and follows along to observe the work responsibilities.
A student may be asked to help out where it may assist in understanding.
When? One full day in the workplace between December and April of each school year.
Phase III Work guides will provide feedback on the work shadowing experience. Students will make reports to fellow students, teachers and parents. Evaluations of the experience will be made by all participants.
