Good publicity expected from

A slice of Bermuda will soon be beaming out of US TV screens after a cable show came to the Island on the weekend.

A cable access show based in Massachusetts recorded two programmes on the Island -- and they have plans to share their exploits with hundreds of thousands of viewers back in the US.

Sally Collura hosts the weekly "Around Town'' slot from her base at Waltham, Ma., and she filmed Island scenes and interviews in a hectic two-day stay.

"We want to show the friendliness. It is really fun and interesting. It will also aim to be informative and educational.'' Part of the show featured interviews with Billy Griffith of the Harmony Club, the Bermuda Strollers, and managers of other Island hotels.

There was also footage of the beaches, historical churches, Hamilton, St.

George's, Dockyard, the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, and Dolphin Quest at the Southampton Princess. Mr. Griffith said he believes the shows, which will be repeated throughout September, will prove a hit.

"It is excellent news for the Island, the shows will provide huge exposure for Bermuda,'' he said. And when the show airs there will be two holidays given away to the 15,000 viewers -- a four-day stay at the Harmony Club and one at Horizons, with flights provided by Magic Carpet Vacations.
