Harvard Theatrical Society brings `Hasty Pudding' show to Bermuda
Harvard University students will bring their 1995 Hasty Pudding Theatrical Production, "A Tsar is Born,'' to Bermuda at the end of the month.
The group, which has been to Bermuda 31 times, is scheduled to arrive on March 26.
This will be the last stop for the group's musical comedy which has been playing for a month in its home theatre in Boston and on weekends in New York.
There will only be five local performances -- on March 29, 30 and 31, and April 1 and 3 -- at the City Hall in Hamilton, so local organisers are urging the public to purchase tickets as soon as possible.
"The Pudding shows are always a sell-out,'' said theatre producer Mrs.
Elsbeth Gibson, "so we advise people to get their tickets early.
"Always hilariously funny, full of music and dancing, `A Tsar is Born' will be the 147th show produced by this group of Harvard University students. It is written and performed by the students, traditionally, an all-male cast, with the beautiful women portrayed by handsome young gentlemen!'' Tickets, at $20, can be purchased from March 23 at the box office of the Visitors Service Bureau in the Chamber of Commerce building on Front Street.
The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Pre-booking can be done by calling 236-7564 on Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21 from 2 to 7 p.m.
