Mrs. Hayward is the unit-co-ordinator of the maternity ward at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

In winning the award she follows on the heels of the ward's assistant unit-coordinator Kathleen Roberts who was honoured with the title last year.

The Bermuda Nurses Association presents the award to the Island's top nurse each year. The event traditionally kicks off Nurse's Week.
