Island wears denim for diabetes

As part of Diabetes Awareness Month, today has been designated as Denim for Diabetes Day.Organised by the Bermuda Diabetes Association, the day is aimed at raising awareness, as well as money, for diabetes care and education.

By donating just $1, school students and working adults will be allowed to wear denim and support the BDA.
Thirty Government departments, 46 businesses, 20 schools and many individuals plan to dress down, with the Bank of Bermuda matching every dollar donated by its staff.
Donations may be sent to the Bermuda Diabetes Association, P.O. Box DV 506, Devonshire DV BX. Participants may also call BDA on 292-1595 to leave a message for money to be collected next week.
