Station for Research hopes to increase public awareness of the ocean's environmental shape.
For BBSR director Tony Knap will host a lecture entitled "The Health of the World's Oceans'' on May 6 beginning at 7 p.m. in the facility's Hanson Hall.
Dr. Knap, who has a Ph.D. in chemical oceanography, will discuss the environmental state of the world's oceans and the importance of monitoring projects as well as explain how research at BBSR has helped scientists learn more about the earth's ecosystem.
"Our planet is three-quarters ocean so it's crucial that we are aware of its environmental health,'' Dr. Knap said.
