Ian Coles, on behalf of the Christmas Boat Parade Organising Committee, said the 2001 parade will be held on December 15.

"We are now appealing for more boat owners to step forward to participate in this year's parade.

"We guarantee you'll have the time of your life. Just ask anyone you know who participated in the past years.'' said Mr. Coles.

He said boat parade organisers would approach Marine & Ports about further safety issues surrounding spectator boats in the parade area.

But he added: "For boats planning to be out on the water on December 15, may we suggest there is one sure way to get close to the action and enjoy the activities to the fullest -- enter the parade.''
