Raising a glass to new members
this year at its annual dinner banquet tomorrow night.
Club members and patrons will gather for dinnertime festivities at the Ascot Restaurant in Pembroke after witnessing its membership grow by 55 percent since September, 1999.
"We've made great strides,'' said public relations vice-president delMonte Davis.
The club is also expecting to improve its ranking within Toastmaster's International by the close of this month and graduate from the status of Distinguished Club to the illustrious title of President's Distinguished Club.
Toastmasters International was formed with the intention of encouraging effective speaking skills. Its members meet bimonthly to practice presenting both impromptu and prepared speeches, and offer constructive criticism of each others oratorical skills.
