Romanoff wound up

any hope owner Anton Duzevic had that he could reopen the business. The restaurant owes about $470,000 to creditors.

Romanoff was closed down two weeks ago after Mr. Duzevic was unable to pay the rent to landlord Imperial Hotel Co. Ltd.

Puisne Judge Richard Ground ordered the winding up at a Supreme Court hearing after being told the company owed $70,000 in back rent to Imperial, and another $200,000 to other creditors. Imperial is also claiming a further $200,000 in back rent.

Mr. Duzevic has in the past said he would file a countersuit seeking damages against Imperial Hotel for not keeping up the premises on the corner of Burnaby and Church Streets.

Romanoff had employed six staff.
