`Take pride'
to take more pride in their clubs.
Just this week there were incidents of violence at clubs which, in the long run, hurts the image of the club.
"We as members of clubs have to take some responsibility for turning those clubs around,'' Mr. Lister believes.
"If we can stand up publicy and admit that our clubs are declining in numbers, and are declining because of activity and the atmosphere, then we as individual members who may be contributing to that have to see fit to change.
"As an individual member, if part of my behaviour is contributing to the decline in people wanting to come, then I should be addressing my own behaviour and not take the attitude `this is my club, I can carry on however I want'.'' He said the club's members canot blame problems on the president or executive if their own attitiudes are driving people away.
"It's members who frequent the clubs who make the clubs,'' he said. "The presidents and executives are doing all they can to keep the club afloat and address some of the negative activities that are taking place at their club and I support their efforts.
"In those situations you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.''
