Angel's Grotto swept the Hibiscus Award for housekeeping properties while Oxford House seized the Cedar Tree Award for guest houses.

Meanwhile the Southampton Princess took the Angel Fish Award for large resort hotels and Waterloo House and the Mid Ocean Club shared the Longtail Award for small hotels.

The awards are based on standard quality inspections by the Bermuda Fire Service, Environmental Health Department and Department of Tourism which all licensed properties must meet minimum requirements in.

Guest properties must obtain the highest possible marks in the three areas of fire and health regulations and accommodation to receive an award.

In addition, the Tourism Department rewards properties in each category which consistently maintain high standards of accommodation and make major improvements.

Receiving Buttery Awards this year were Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, Stonington Beach Hotel, Barnsdale and Aunt Nea's Inn.

And the respective large and small hotels taking environmental health standard awards for maintaining a high standard of hygiene were The Princess and Willowbank while Sonesta Beach Hotel took the Fire Service award for fully implementing and adhering to the Fire Maintenance Procedure Plan.
