that affect their parish and the whole of Bermuda.

Drugs, sexual assaults on children, divorce and the recession were all subjects for discussion at the Purvis School Auditorium last night.

It is another step by the Warwick Community Action Group (WARCAG) in their battle for a better community.

Chairperson of the Women's Resource Centre, Ms Shanda Simmons asked the meeting to help in the education of children to prevent sexual abuse.

She said: "Sexual abuse may include incest, paedophilia, exhibitionism or child prostitution. Since opening the Women's Resource Centre we have had every one of these problems covered by victims and survivors.

"We tell children three things, that your body belongs to you, it is always a good idea to tell someone and it is not your fault.'' Recovering cocaine addict, Mr. Denton Outerbridge told the audience of around 100 residents that drug addiction has to be stopped before it starts. Mr.

Outerbridge said: "You have to hit rock bottom before you admit that you have a problem. I hit rock bottom a number of times.'' He had been a cocaine addict for 10 years, but managed to kick the habit three years ago. He said: "I had a love affair with the `white lady.' Then she divorced me.'' He sought help.

Since then Mr. Outerbridge has been involved in the National Drug Strategy attempting to help other users. But he says that the adddiction is still there. He said: "The minute I start to think that I am in good shape and I stop turning my life over to God, it will be there.'' Both sides of single parenthood were given by Mrs. Laquita Zuill, formerly of the Single Parents Association and Mr. Patrick Pedro who is secretary of the association.

Father of three Mr. Pedro said: "Society tells you that fathers desert their children, but I am here to tell you that it works both ways.'' Mother of two Mrs. Zuill said that children needed fathers as role models before they came into contact with their first male authority figures like the Police and the courts.

Community Affairs Officer, Mrs. Sue Davis spoke on coping with the recession and said that her organsiation will provide help with people struggling to balance their budgets.
