And there are still funds left over to make a donation to another charity in June, outgoing president Samantha DeCouto revealed.

PALS, the Council Partners, Child Wish and LCCA were each presented with $500 by the Leo Club after $3,000 had been raised from events such as selling callendars, secret admirer cards on Valentine's Day and the biggest event of the year, the annual dinner, from which $2,000 was raised.

"Almost 300 people were there and it was very successful,'' said Miss DeCouto who graduates this year and will hand over the presidency of the club to Ashley Robinson.

"I still get e-mails and phone calls saying it was so wonderful.'' Entertainment for the show was provided by Vaude Villans, Mahogany, Sugar and Spice, Nary's Angels and a fashion show by the fifth year students.

At the dinner Miss DeCouto also received a certificate from the President of the Lions Club on behalf of the Leo District President for being voted the top Leo Club president in the district of New York, under which the local club falls.

"Being president has done a lot for me, I'm very sad that I am leaving,'' said Miss DeCouto, who graduates at the end of the school year.

"I will miss it very much and I wish the new officers the best of luck and I challenge them to raise more than we did this year. And to have more members as well!'' Presently there are 74 members in the Leo Club, the Junior division of the Paget Lions Club.

The incoming officers, voted in by members of the Leo Club, are Robinson, Jiana Caldwell (vice president), Shakeya DeRoza (secretary) and Natassja Johnson (treasurer).

All for charity: Students in the Warwick Academy Leo Club presented four charities with cheques for $500 each from fund-raising events this school year.
