A new open-air show opens tonight
will be raised tonight at Dockyard.
Producer Kevin Simmons said both visitors and locals would be delighted with the show, which will change its line-up every week.
Mr. Simmons said: "It's a new concept show and it'll be something for everybody.'' He added that, in addition to top local headline artists, the show would feature Bermuda favourites like gombeys and limbo dancers to provide a Caribbean island flavour.
And the limbo dancers -- fire-eater Brian Butterfield and Gloria Robinson (GiGi) -- are set to provide spectacular entertainment.
Mr. Simmons said: "Brian, I think, is the only fire-eater on the Island and GiGi is one of the most sensuous limbo dancers out there.'' He added: "Every week the show will be fresh with a featured guest act for the week.'' Doors open at 9.30 p.m. tonight, with tickets costing $25 -- which includes two complimentary rum swizzles, at the snorkel park at Dockyard.
Mr. Simmons said: "One of the reasons we chose that location was that we have cruise ships out there. It's to add some entertainment to the area.
"It's convenient for the cruise ships, but it's also open to the general public. A lot of hotels have expressed an interest, too.'' He added: "It's also in the best interests of Bermuda because there is so much talk about tourism here.'' Mr. Simmons said: "Most people have a Caribbean perception when they get here and they're looking for that type of entertainment.
"It's all going to be very relaxed, including the dress code. One of the things we wanted to do was create that relaxed island atmosphere.''
