Proceeds in aid of the First International Conference on deafness in Bermuda.

*** The Leisure Artist's Group of The International American Women's Club, Bermuda (IAWC) will be holding its third art show at the Bermuda Society of Arts at City Hall from Friday April 24 to Friday May 1.

Formed in 1981 the IAWC includes women from many cultures and countries of the world.

The Leisure Artists' Group is one of many groups organised by and for Club members, and has proved to be one of its most popular.

The group provides a forum for learning new skills, experimenting with different ideas and mediums, and above all, for sharing an interest in and love of art.

The group is also visited regularly by professional artists -- both local and from overseas -- who demonstrate their techniques and provide individual assistance to members. Most of the show's proceeds will be donated to local charities.

*** The Lay Organisation of Allen Temple AME Church jointly with Allen Temple's 125th Anniversary project committee invite you to an evening of spirituals and old fashion songs.

This special evening will take place at Allen Temple on Sunday April 26 at 7.30 p.m. Guest keynoter is the Rev. Lloyd Duncan, Pastor of Smith's Hill Church of God, Pembroke.

*** Strict traffic regulations will be imposed during this year's Agricultural Exhibition, which will be held at the Botanical Gardens, Paget, from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday April 25.

During the three day exhibition, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. there will be no parking on Tee Street, Point Finger Road and Berry Hill Road. Parking on South Road will not be allowed between Point Finger Road and Tee Street and there will also be no parking in the Garden's grounds.

The Southwest gate and service entrance on South Road will not be open to the public and cars will not be allowed to enter through the Point Finger Road West Gate entrance.

North Gate on Berry Road and South Gate on South Road will be used as entry routes while the South East Gate on South Road will be used as the exit.

Berry Hill Road will be one way in an easterly direction between the junctions of Camden Road North and Tee Street throughout the Exhibition.

Governor Thorold Masefield will officially open the Exhibition at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.

*** Traffic restrictions will be in place in St. George's this week.

Due to the annual Peppercorn Ceremony at King's Square tomorrow, Police have announced that no vehicular traffic will be allowed at the Square from 9 a.m.

to 12.30 p.m.

Water, Bridge, and King Streets will be closed, in addition to Hunter's Wharf, Ordnance Island and behind the Town Hall building.

The Swing Bridge will also be closed to marine traffic between 10 and 11 a.m.

Governor Thorold Masefield will arrive by Daimler at Tiger Bay Gardens. He will then transfer to the Landau for the journey to King's Square.

Just before 11 a.m. Mr. Masefield and his party will arrive at the Square where the Mayor of St. George's and the Commanding Officer of the Bermuda Regiment will meet them.

The Governor will then inspect a Guard of Honour before the ceremony gets underway.

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made at 9 a.m. on whether to proceed with the full ceremony or hold a ceremony on a reduced scale in the Town Hall.

If the wet weather plan is implemented, the Bermuda Regiment will not parade on King's Square and the Governor will arrive at the Town Hall by Daimler.
