Auditions being held this weekend for Christmas pantomime

Calling all want-to-be actors, auditions for the 1995 Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society's Christmas show, `Robin Hood & Babes in the Wood', will be held this weekend.

The auditions for adults will begin on Friday from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Pembroke Sunday School.

Children -- under 16-years-old -- will be auditioned on Saturday from 2 p.m.

until 6 p.m.

Audition pieces can be picked up at Daylesford Theatre.

Rehearsals will begin on October 31 and those who join the cast can expect to rehearse on weekends and on the November 13 public holiday, organisers said.

This years show, `Robin Hood & Babes in the Wood', is a traditional English pantomime with a dash of local Bermudian flavour and a bit of trendy humour thrown in as well.

The show, directed by British actor Johnathan Owen and produced by Ora Bainbridge, will run at City Hall from December 7 to 16, excluding December 10. Shows will begin at 8 p.m. There will be matinee performances on December 9 and 16, beginning at 3 p.m.

Tickets for the show will be $16 and $13 for matinee performances. They will go on sale on November 18 at Daylesford Theatre.
