David's on July 19 at TOC Production's "Beach Bash '97''.
The concert will feature Tanto Metro who is Beenie Man's back-up singer and a well-known DJ in his own right.
Local acts Jahstice and Junior C are also scheduled to perform, and pre-concert entertainment will be provided by Soul Jah One and Playboy International.
Concert promoter Shawn Perott explained that the show was part of an effort to try a different concept with stage shows.
"Rather than having a lot of different artists, we're bringing the biggest and the best,'' he said.
Beenie Man's most recent album entitled "Maestro'' contains some of this year's hottest dancehall tracks including, "Gals Dem Sugar''.
The artist has received the prestigious DJ of the Year award for three consecutive years.
In addition to the music portion of the show, Mr. Perott said there would also be a swimsuit competition.
The $50 ticket includes a drawing for seven major door prizes, including tickets to Sumfest in Jamaica and a Suzuki RC 100 bike.
Tickets will be on sale starting July 5 at Music World, Dub City, and Jeans Plus. Early bird tickets are $45.
Hundreds of Bermudians who make the annual trek to Jamaica for Reggae Sunsplash may have to make adjustments in their travel plans.
According to Sunsplash organiser Rae Barrett, Sunsplash has been rescheduled from its usual August date to February of next year.
The organisers of Sunsplash have joined forces with the Bob Marley Foundation to put on "Bob Marley Week with Reggae Sunsplash''.
The week will be from February 1 to 8, and the concert festival will be from February 5 to 8.
A beach party is scheduled for February 5 and a celebration of the late Reggae legend's birthday will be held on February 6.
Murray Brown, of Brown Charters, told The Royal Gazette : "Over the past several years, Sumfest has really become the premier music festival.'' "Sunsplash used to go head-to-head with Sumfest, and they're being edged out, which is why they may have decided to reschedule it as a winter event.
"Fortunately for Bermudians, the new February date is around the same time as test match cricket,'' he added.
For those who still want to make the August trip, Sumfest and Super Reggaefest are still scheduled from July 30 to August 10 in Jamaica.
The Super Reggaefest line-up is expected to include culture artists such as Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, and Judy Mowatt and dancehall dons like General Degree, Junior Tucker and Red Rat.
