Bishop Ming was taken to the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after falling ill at around 6 p.m. at the closing of the annual AME conference in St. Paul Centennial Hall, Hamilton.
A hospital spokeswoman said he was stable in the intensive care unit.
Bishop Ming is the first Bermudian to become bishop of the 1st district of the AME, which covers Bermuda, Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Western New York.
