Cadets at Boot Camp
at a Cadet Orientation Boot Camp.
The camp is based in New Jersey at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station.
Cadets will undergo one week of training at the camp which encompasses the US Naval Nautical Theme.
At the completion of the week, a graduation ceremony will be held and the group will head back to the Island on August 15.
Commander of the Bermuda Sea Cadet Corps, W. Anthoni Lightbourne said: "This is a part of their normal routine every summer.
"We are special to have been able to sustain this programme over the years.'' He added: "Bermuda is such a small Island. Our cadets are not exposed to the larger arena. With this they gain a greater sense of reality.
"Everything is a reinforcement of the positive things which encompass our daily lives.'' Mr. Lightbourne also said three junior cadets will join two of the senior cadets in Novia Scotia for a general training course. The senior cadets departed over a week ago and are on a boatswain trade course.
And cadets Nurhi Bashir, Brian Scott, and Kim Pitcher arrived home last week after successfully completing a four-week training course in the UK.
