The Paget primary school has linked up with a school in the African country and it hopes to set up pen pal schemes.
Principal Eunice Jones said: "One of our teachers saw an article in The Royal Gazette about the Broadbents who visited Dagbalete and helped children there.
"The children got very excited about it and wanted to do something to help.
They were so surprised children had to pay for their education.
"We had a grub day where the children paid $2 to come in wearing their play clothes.''
