College honours long-serving staff
service awards ceremony.
More than 80 staff gathered at the site as certificates were presented to people who had worked for the college between five and 25 years. Two workers, Gina Graham and Diana Amos, can claim to have been there longer than the college itself.
The pair were congratulated on 25 years plus service -- both starting work when it was known as the technical institute and before the present college began.
College president Dr. George Cook -- who himself received an award for 21 years at the college -- told the gathering that it was they who were responsible for the success of the college.
"Bermuda College is the most important social institution on the Island.
There is a reason for that, it is because of the people who provide the services.
"This is about celebrating ourselves and the contribution we have made, making the college what it is today.'' In addition to the long service awards, there were also two retirees, Dr.
Gloria Frederick and Dr. Clifford Maxwell.
