its Third Annual Dance Showcase next weekend.

"The show will highlight the dancer's technique,'' explained Ms Pimentel.

"This year we are offering a lot of various styles like Latin and country and western.'' "For the younger ones we have incorporated creative movements and new elements like props,'' she added. "That way it will be more than just them, walking onto that stage and waving their hands.

"We're trying to be innovative and make it more than just your normal recital.'' The May 12 and 13 extravaganza will take place at 7.30 p.m. at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium at the Cedarbridge Academy in Prospect.

In addition to featuring jazz, ballet, tap and contemporary dance from pre-ballet to advanced levels, next weekend's recital will also showcase the talent of In Motion's senior dancers who perform at various venues around the Island.

"There will also be performances from `Concepts' dance ensemble, which is In Motion's in-house performing ensemble,'' she explained. "They most recently performed for the Bermuda International Film Festival's Gala Night at Newstead and for the Bermuda College Open House.'' Ms Pimentel also paid tribute to her staff for dedicating themselves to the students and the show.

"I've got a fantastic staff! Everyone has worked hard the last couple of months to put this together.

"The creative movements were choreographed by Linda Tee, myself, Irene Hasseller-Pimentel and Jennifer Soares,'' she added. "We also had a guest choreographer Cheryl Brennan.'' Tickets for the In Motion School of Dance showcase are $25 for adults, $15 for children under 12 and $40 for patrons. The tickets are available from Rock Island Coffee or at In Motion, Monday through Friday 11 to 2 p.m. and all day Saturday. Tickets will also be available at the door.

In Motion: Next weekend's Dance Showcase will also feature In Motion's senior dancers who have performed at various venues around the Island.
