Government has okayed the continuation of an experimental late evening bus service from Hamilton to Dockyard and the addition of a Saturday service.

The Public Transportation Board announced yesterday that the Monday to Friday service it initiated in April -- partly in response to the West End business community -- had seen "encouraging results''.

There had been high use between Hamilton and Sonesta Beach Hotel, it noted.

Effective today the PTB will expand the service to include Saturdays.

An assessment to determine the viability and need for the service to continue will be made in October.

Route Seven leaving times will be 7.25 p.m., 8.25 p.m. and 9.35 p.m. from Hamilton, and 8.35 p.m., 9.35 p.m. and 10.35 p.m. from Dockyard, Monday to Saturday.
