The contest, organised to celebrate the Millennium, sought to recognise gardens that are visible from the road. The Club has listed winners in three zones and in three categories.

The overall winner was Pam Kempe for her large garden at Kempdon on the Harbour Road in Paget.

There were a total of 76 entries in the categories of large garden, small garden and porch /balcony /entrance-way.

The winners were as follows in the Western zone: Large garden -Kempdon, Small Garden, Lloyd Matthew at Portsdown on St. Mary's Road in Warwick and for her entrance-way Carol Tee of Watercolours on Harbour Road in Warwick.

In the central zone Riquette Bonne-Smith picked up the large garden award for Villa Bonne on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. Peter Lloyd of Watch House at Fort Hamilton Drive in Pembroke won for his small garden. Robert Gibbons of Lacuna on Paget Close in Paget was the winner in the porch /balcony /entrance-way section.

Finally, in the Eastern zone, first place for a large garden went to Liris Hodgson of Cottage Hill Hamilton Parish. Brendan Hollis won in the small garden category for his home at the Old Rectory St. Georges, and Angela McKey's balcony won a first place as well.

Heightened bloom: Angela McKey's balcony in bloom, top, was the judges' pick in the East End in the porch/balcony/entrance-way category while Peter Lloyd's home at Fort Hamilton Drive in Pembroke, below, won a first place in the small gardens category. Overall winner in the Bermuda in Bloom contest- Kempdon, on the Harbour Road in Paget, is pictured right.
