Father and daughter put on art show
Dockyard.
The show, entitled Finch & Finch, features the work of father John Finch and his daughter Carolyn.
It shows an array of paintings depicting the historic transportation of Bermuda, including the Bermuda Railway and "flying-boats''.
Both father and daughter use the same medium, gouache, and have a similar style.
According to Julie Hastings-Smith, curator and administrator for the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard, "gouache is a watercolour medium where one can achieve superb detail and stunning light effects using rich colours or subtle tints''.
Mr. Finch will also be hosting painting workshops for those interested in learning how to paint with gouache.
The Finch & Finch show runs until November 10 and the three-day workshops will be held from October 22 to 25 and October 27 to 29.
Anyone interested in the workshops may contact The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard on 234-2809.
Bermuda Maritime Museum director Dr. Edward Harris officially declared the show open on Sunday.
