The news comes two weeks after medical officers began researching whether there is a link to dozens of radio towers at Prospect.

A cluster of rare cancer symptoms have already been discovered among several British Policemen who lived at the Prospect barracks while serving in Bermuda in the 1960s.

Brenda Davidson, coordinator of the investigation into the two groups, said her department is still looking into the mystery.

She said: "We're still looking at that. Four women is not unusual on its own, but what interests me is that they are under 50-years-old.'' Dr. Davidson added: "You expect people to come down with cancer, yes, but with this we're finding young people getting it in excessive numbers.'' She has also heard from people living in the area and at least two people claim to have developed cancer.

Dr. Davidson appealed for the cancer sufferers to come forward in the wake of a meeting held by anti-cellular telephone tower group CARE (Community Against Radiation Emissions).

Anyone with additional information about Prospect Secondary students suffering breast cancer are asked to call the Health Department at 236-0224.
