Group to mark annual child week
holding its annual week of the young child from April 12 to April 20.
The schedule is as follows: Saturday, April 12 at 10.45 a.m. -- executive bodies and members are invited to attend Workshop Services at Warwick Seventh Day Adventist Church, South Road, Warwick.
Sunday, April 13 at 10.45 a.m. -- worship services held for executive body and members at Wesley Methodist Church, Church Street Hamilton.
Monday, April 14 at 11 p.m. -- The official opening on the steps of City Hall.
Guest speaker: Florenz Maxwell. Song: "I Believe I Can Fly''.
Tuesday, April 15 at 10 a.m. -- Interact with another primary, preschool, or nursery school of your choice -- share a video, have lunch together, visit another school etc.
Wednesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. -- "Celebrating Dads'' at your primary, pre-school and/or nursery school. At 7.30 p.m. "Books Come Alive'' Warwick Preschool: Presenter Andrene Curtis and Friends. Come and learn other effective ways of keeping children's interest when doing storytelling.
Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m. -- "Spotlight on Parents'' and from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Supper Story Hour in Hamilton at Victoria Park, St. George's at Mullet Bay Park, and in Southampton at Port Royal Park.
Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m. -- Plan something special at your school Saturday, April 19 from 9.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. -- Workshop for caregivers, teachers, and parents. Venue: Southampton Preschool. Presenters: Lakeshore Learning Materials, California.
Sunday, April 20 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. -- Grande Finale all children aged up to 8 years of age are invited to Government House Grounds.

*** It's time to "Spring into the Arts'' with the many talented young people in the Island's schools.
Spring into the Arts, which takes place from April 14 to April 18 from 7 p.m.
to 8.30 p.m., is a Department of Education and community initiative designed to promote the artistic talent of our young people and to bring the arts together in a non-competitive endeavour.
Schools are encouraged to showcase the work that has taken place throughout the school year.
*** The Meet-A-Mum association (MAMA) has welcomed its 1,000th member -- Liz Boden of the Nurses' Practice.
The Nurses' Practice shares in the support for mums on the Island with the MAMA charity. And it offers prenatal services.
And just a note, MAMA will be holding its annual garage sale on Saturday, April 19 at St. Mary's Church, Warwick. 291-3799.
