Headmaster praised for teaching locals
Bermudians was honoured recently for his 25 years in the top post.
Among the honourees at Brewster Academy's celebration of David Smith's 25th anniversary was local educator Merle Swan Williams who praised his vision, spirit and sense of mission that enabled young people from around the world to evolve into self confident and skilled adults.
"We salute you, praise you, honour you, and bless the virtues and wisdom that make you the model man you are,'' said Mrs. Williams.
As the former head of the College, School and Camp Advisory Service, Mrs.
Williams was responsible for guiding hundreds of Bermudian families through the process of selecting schools abroad -- including Brewster Academy.
Mr. Smith has helped develop the partnership between the Island and the school which has been attended by approximately one hundred locals during the past 20 years.
Brewster Academy was represented at an upcoming informal reception for American boarding schools at the Princess Hotel on Tuesday evening.
