Howzat!

HOWZAT! -- Mr. Hal Kempe holds two giant-sized avocado pears grown in his Devonshire garden. The two fruits weigh nearly 31 pounds each. Earlier this week another Devonshire resident, Mr. Noel Gonsalves, brought in a three pound, 12-ounce avocado. Dr. Roberta Dow of Agriculture and Fisheries said 31 -pounders are big though not abnormal for the larger size avocados growing in Bermuda this season, such as the choquette and monroe fruits.
