Keys ready to entertain toddlers
weekend in aid of a local charity.
The Meet-A-Mum Association (MAMA) will host ToddlerFest, in aid of PALS, this Sunday at the Surf Club on Front Street.
The 2 to 5 p.m. event will feature popular local entertainer Jimmy Keys as well as Dottie the Clown and magician Mike Bishop.
All the entertainers are donating their services for free while the Surf Club provided their premises for the event for no cost.
"Children can look forward to an afternoon filled with activities, with a fun castle, tiny train, balloon animals, bottomless cups of drink a variety of forms of entertainment,'' explained MAMA spokesperson Catherine Kennedy.
"There will be three shows featuring Mr. Key's hilarious music and comedy geared especially to his young audience.
"What's more, food by the Surf Club's chefs will be on sale after 5 p.m.'' Meet-A-Mum Association is a registered charity, run by mothers and nannies as a support and resource network.
The organisation runs playgroups, publishes a monthly newsletter called The Stroller, organises social events for mums and kids and raises funds for various local charities.
The Association has already donated chairs that fold out into beds to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's Gosling Ward, helped fund the Shelly Bay playground and donated $2,000 towards a neo-natal unit.
While tickets for Sunday's Toddlerfest have virtually sold out, anyone interested in obtaining more information on the event should contact MAMA president Sarah Lorimer-Turner at 291-3799 or Ms Kennedy at 238-1832.
