Leamington owner to test the market
to sell the property.
Leamington Plantation restaurant in Bailey's Bay was forced to close at the end of last year after operating at a loss.
Owner Carol West announced her intentions to put the multi-million dollar, three acre prime Hamilton Parish property -- which is also the home of Leamington Caves -- on the market at that time.
And on Friday a notice appeared in a local newspaper revealing that planning permission for changes to the site had been applied for.
But the in principle application for internal renovations, demolition of auxiliary structures, minor additions to the existing commercial building and the creation of office and residential space is just part of the process to determine a market price for the site, said Mrs. West.
"We are just trying to figure out what we have here,'' she told The Royal Gazette .
The multi-zoned property presently has four buildings including three cottages.
