a gala concert for Dunbarton School of Music at St. John's Church, Pembroke.
The programme will include works by GF Handel, F. Schubert, W.A Mozart, G.
Puccini and other composers, as well as selections from American music theatre and traditional spirituals.
Marcelle Clamens is an inspiration to those who seek to make the most of their gift.
Though she had sung in choirs for years, it wasn't until she was an adult that she began formal vocal training, here in Bermuda before pursuing intense training at College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.
After earning a Bachelor of Music in 1996, she returned to Bermuda, where she has been preparing for international concerts and competitions.
Mrs. Clamens will be accompanied on piano by one of her coaches, Sylvia Plyler, professor of Accompanying and Vocal Repertoire at College-Conservatory, University of Cincinnati.
After completing a BA and Masters in Music in the US, Ms Plyler studied music and languages in Vienna and Florence, and now coaches at the International Institute of Vocal Arts, in Chiara, Italy and AIMS, in Graz, Austria.
During her stay in Bermuda, Ms Plyler will coach local singers and accompanists in a series of Master Classes. The public is welcome to observe the final class, on Monday, June 23 at 7.30 p.m. at the Anglican Cathedral.
