Miami's Lady Terror spins Caribbean moods
Saturday in "Spring Splash `99'.
And one of the DJs, Miami-based Lady Terror, will be proving that women know how to mix it up as "wicked'' as the guys.
Lady Terror is currently a house DJ at Miami's Club Amnesia and is a staff DJ on Miami's number one Caribbean and hip hop radio station Mixx 96.1 FM.
She was first inspired to become a DJ while attending college at Howard University, majoring in Music.
The Jamaican national soon realised there was a "serious vacuum'' for female DJs in the Caribbean music community, and began to develop her skills in between college studies.
After graduating, Lady Terror returned to Miami to pursue DJing and has played to sold-out audiences in her five years behind the turntables.
True to her Caribbean roots, Terror sees her role in DJing as a "selector'' and crowd motivator. Her popularity is largely based on the music she selects during sets.
The show, sponsored by Phaze One Entertainment and Outlaw Productions, will also feature New York's Massive B with Bobby Konders and Jabba, and Bermuda's own Playboy Outlaw Movement.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and the first 100 tickets are $20. Tickets can be purchased at Spence Hair Design, dub City and Jeans Plus.
The show is at the Harbour Room in the upper level of Number One Shed. Doors open at 9.30 p.m.
