MP flown out of island for tests
flown to Boston for medical tests.
Dr. Stubbs, MP for Paget East, was whisked to hospital by air-ambulance at around midnight on Thursday. His wife, Robin, went with him.
It is believed the tests relate to a serious health problem.
Last night Dr. Stubbs' son, Robert, was unable to throw any light on his 60-year-old father's condition.
"All I can say is that he is undergoing tests,'' said Mr. Stubbs.
Mr. Hume Martin, executive director of Bermuda Hospitals Board, last night declined to comment.
"It is a private matter,'' he said.
Dr. Stubbs is one of the Island's leading physicians, and is a veteran politician.
He has held several Cabinet portfolios -- including Planning, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Industries and Technology, now defunct.
Mr. Joe Gibbons, the United Bermuda Party's chairman, said he spoke to the MP on Thursday.
"He sounded all right then. I don't know what could be wrong. All I know is that he is having tests,'' said Mr. Gibbons.
