My kind of place
ROWELL Two-and-a-half years after she joined The Young and the Restless as Drucilla Barber, Victoria Rowell has become one of the day-time soap's most well-known stars. She has also appeared on As The World Turns, the Fresh Prince of Belair, as well as movie roles in Bill Cosby's Leonard Part 2, and A Distinguished Gentleman. Rowell, who lives in Los Angeles, was in Bermuda in December as a guest of the Physical Abuse Centre.
"My favourite place of all was Fourways Inn. Definitely. Everything about it, the antiques, the rustic atmosphere, the service, the piano player. My husband and I had a fantastic time. Most spectacular were the dark and stormy cakes. I was born in Maine and grew up (in foster homes) in New York and Boston, where there are lots of fabulous little antique shops. There are lots of places in New England that are just so rustic. That's what I loved so much about Fourways. It embodied everything that was old in a beautiful warm atmosphere.
And the pianist, who told me he enjoys my dancing on the show, played whatever we wanted including my favourite, Debussy's Clair de Lune. I hate to pick just one favourite place because I love Bermuda so much. We visited the jazz bar at Elbow Beach, walked around the Coral Beach Club, and spent two nights at Norma Wade's house. And the people are incredible. I'm going to have to return to Bermuda.'' No caption.
