Sexual educator Ms Margaret Swift, who wants to alleviate the stigma associated with discussing sexuality, has named the business Sexuality Education and Counselling Service.

As the name suggests, Ms Swift will focus on both counselling and education.

"Couples or individuals can come to me for counselling on a variety of issues. People who have orgasm problems; who are recovering from a mastectomy or a hysterectomy, prostate cancer, or wishing to spice up their intimate relationships may want to come for counselling.

"This also includes people diagnosed HIV positive.

"My findings are that people in Bermuda get good care when they are tested, and when they are dying, but not in the interim when they are living with HIV, and need someone to talk to,'' said Ms Swift.

"I hope to offer low cost counselling,'' she said. Charges will depend on income, and range from $5-$75 an hour.

Ms Swift earned a Masters' degree at Northeastern University, Boston as a rehabilitation counsellor, and specialised in sexuality and HIV.

She gained sexual therapy training while at a conference held by Guelph University in Canada.

The educational aspect of the business is "exciting'', said Ms Swift.

"Bermuda is such a small community that I plan to educate by offering seminars.
