Overseas bankers give golf proceeds to local charity

Windreach, which organises riding and other activities for the disabled, received a $23,000 boost from an event held for associates of Bermuda-based company Star Asset Management Limited.
Star held a special event -- the Star Asset Management Golf Classic and Fun Management Weekend -- for 60 executives from global banks that it associates with as part of its financial management work.
Staff from the Bank of Montreal, Chase, Deutsche, Morgan Stanley, Scotia and others attended the jamboree last weekend.
For the third year in a row Star treated the executives to golf, a cruise, dinner and water sports.
In addition, a putting tournament raised cash for Windreach, with the players contributions matched by Star.
The winning team comprised Peter Everson, Julian Rose, Damian Resnik and Sydney Sherry.

It rose more than 80 percent in 1998, and a further 23 percent in the first seven months of 1999.
In future, those who invest in Nasdaq-100 Index Shares will also be buying Global Crossing.
