Presiding Elder, AME Churches

name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins.'' This was the prophecy of Isaiah in the Old Testament and it became a reality on the first Christmas in a little town called Bethlehem.

Here we are almost some 2000 years later celebrating that momentous event that changed the course of history for all of mankind! We in Bermuda are especially blessed as we join Christians all over the world in praise and adoration of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! This has been an exciting year for us, with the recent major change in our elected leaders. Our wish for them is for wisdom and integrity in all of their deliberations and decisions, because the Word of God reminds us that "wisdom is the principle thing, and that righteousness exalts a nation!'' It is only then that each of us may come to see more clearly, not that which divides us, but that which UNITES US! As a Christian community, let us all use this season as a time of reflection and refocus as we redefine our witness. Our prayer for all our brothers and sisters is that Christ would be born anew in each of our lives, and through that experience, we will be the recipients of the peace, joy and goodwill Christ came to bring, that we may go forth into the New Year with the assurance the word was made flesh and is still dwelling among us! The Bermuda Annual Conference of the African Methodist Church wishes all JOY TO THE WORLD, BECAUSE THE LORD HAS COME!
