The Chapel of Ease's fund-raising president Ms Ann Harrison said the St.

David's church was in urgent need of assistance to repair its 146-year-old slate roof which was leaking water onto its new $17,000 organ.

There was a risk of severe damage if the roof was not repaired soon, said Ms Harrison, but the church did not have the funds needed to start work.

She said the church would be holding a '60s dance at St.George's Dinghy Club on October 21 in a bid to raise the cash.
