Queen's birthday parade on Monday

The parade will form at the Cabinet Grounds on Front Street at 9.45 a.m. to await the arrival of various dignitaries, including Governor Thorold Masefield, Premier Jennifer Smith and the Mayor of Hamilton William Frith.

A rehearsal for the parade will take place on June 11.

The Police will erect crowd control barriers on Front Street and stands will be erected on the south side of Front Street for invited guests only.

Front Street, from Court Street to Bermudiana Road, and Burnaby Street, from Reid Street to Front Street, will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Point Pleasant Road entrance to Albouy Point will also be closed to traffic from 4 a.m. until 11 a.m. in order to permit access by VIP cars.

There will be no parking signs posted along Front Street from Court Street to Bermudiana. These will be in place from 6 a.m. Monday until noon.

In addition, the Police will close streets, or portions of streets, and divert traffic as the Commissioner of Police directs.
